Beaches and Breezes

Beaches and Breezes

B is for Beaches and Breezes. Nothing sounds better than a warm, summer day that comes with a slightly cooling breeze on the beach. Whether it’s Martha’s Vineyard or Clearwater Beach, beaches can be a time to relax and gather your thoughts. It’s important to look your coolest, not because the summer temperatures can get extremely hot, but you can feel confident. Feeling confident and relaxed is an awesome combination, so check out the Kendall and Kylie Jenner swimwear collection. Their pieces offer a range of bold swimwear for the summer months. So what else makes a great beach outfit besides a stunning swimsuit? A bold beach bag. Put just as much effort into your swimsuit as you do your beach bag. A beach bag is more than just a holder for your clothes, it is fashion statement. It shows you care about every single part of your beach day. Last but not least, it is important to know that you don’t have to wear a baggy t-shirt for your overlay. Getting to the beach is a moment full of excitement, so why not wear an exciting outfit. Some nice shorts is all you need because the whole time you may not want to reveal your swimsuit. Sometimes the breeze can come stronger than we hope, so it’s important to have cute overlaying clothes. It’s important to be bold at the beach, but most importantly don’t forget your sunscreen!

F is for Father’s Day featuring Pharrell Williams. In the spirit of Father’s Day, I decided to go out of my sorts and talk about men’s fashion. In the image above Pharrell wears a variety of styles and combines them into one outfit and it somehow works. His serious suit jacket doesn’t overpower because he decides to add a nice t-shirt under, instead of a typical dress shirt. This t-shirt allows him to wear jeans because t-shirt and jeans are super common, so why not add the rolled up jeans with holes in them? To make the casual style even more relaxed, he wears some stylish sneakers to make a statement that, “Hey, I’m on the go. I’m a father too!”. Last but not least, don’t forget the classic Pharrell hat. Okay, so you may not want to wear that huge hat because you feel it’s some crazy celebrity thing, but that doesn’t mean you have to pass up on the idea of a hat. Wearing a hat shows that your a classy, calm kind of guy. It shows that you put effort into your style and want to stay “cool”. What I admire about Pharrell is his thrive to dress well, so fellas just because your a male doesn’t mean you can’t have a passion for fashion. Happy Father’s Day.

T is for tank tops in the unfairly, hot summer. So how do you wear a tank top? Well, first you want to remember not to show too much skin. I know you’re probably thinking of hot weather that showing lots of skin is a must, but really you can wear nice jeans with large holes in them. This way you can still look covered, yet not feel the burning wrath of the sun. Tanks and holey jeans are quite boring, so in order for the outfit to reach its’ full potential, you need to capitalize on the shoes. Wearing any neon shoes with such a simple outfit is the key to making your “OOTD” exciting. Beyonce took it to a new level by wearing sandal heals, so don’t be afraid to go bold with the shoes. Not everybody wants to carry a huge purse or cross body all day when they’re trying to enjoy their summer, so just carry a fun wristlet or wallet to hold the stuff you need. Last but not least, add your sunglasses. It’s sunny in the summer, so do yourself a favor and protect your beautiful eyes. Your sunglasses don’t have to be the boldest of the bold, just rock a simple, black pair to keep your eyes alive. If you already have the bright shoes, it’s not necessary to add bright sunglasses. Let your shoes do all the walking and talking.

Can you Camo?

Can you Camo?

C is for Camo. Who doesn’t love camo? Well, camo doesn’t have to be your everyday military outfit. In fact, you can make camo stand out as long as you add a different bright color. Camo standing out seems contradictory, but trust me it can be done. All you have to do is add a bright yellow or orange. This adds flavor to your camo outfit. However, you don’t want to overdo your extra color. Simple statement pieces that are black, white, or gray, even out the busy camo pattern. Don’t over do the camo we still want to see you. With all this being said, don’t forget your Sephora face mask because we still want to see a fresh face behind all the camo. Thank goodness you no longer have to hide in camouflage!

R is for red. Red is a great color to use when you have neutral colors for the main part of the outfit. It gives you that confident “HEY! LOOK AT ME, I’M WEARING NEUTRAL COLORS, BUT I STILL WANT TO BE NOTICED” kind of look. Taraji P. Henson boldly wears a red leather jacket, which it great for the fall and winter seasons paired with a plain shirt and perhaps some jeans. The red belt, on the right image, (for Taraji it’s a band around her shorts) blends in a way, so the “pop” factor won’t look out of place. Be careful when wearing bright red, don’t over do it. One or two factors of red is enough.
